When the Jefferson municipal pool closes for the season next Friday afternoon, it means it’s time for the annual Doggie Paddle!
Animal Protection and Education (APE) of Paton invites area dogs and their owners for the annual event, slated for Saturday, Aug. 30, from 2 to 4 pm at the pool. Dogs pay $1 per paw (that’s $4 for most), and their humans get in free with their paid dog.
A highlight of the afternoon will be a canine swimsuit contest. “Dress your pup up in their best swimming attire and come have some fun,” said APE director Linn Price.
All proceeds help APE provide spay and neuter services in Greene county and throughout central Iowa. Find the Doggie Paddle on Facebook
